A new bill proposed by Maryland and Virginia senators would block $150 million in federal funds from reaching the Washington, DC metro if they go forward on a deal to buy 800 new rail cars from China. They fear that China would be able to surreptitiously steal data and invade metro riders’ privacy and that the metro would become more vulnerable to hacking.
