Ukrainian presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelenskiy addressed his supporters in Kiev on Sunday evening after exit polls suggested that he won the run-off round of the Ukrainian presidential election with 73 percent of the vote.

“Since I am not the president officially, as a Ukrainian citizen, I will say to all former Soviet countries ‘Take a look at us’. Anything is possible,” he said, as well as thanking his wife and parents.

“Thank you to the police for their honourable service, thanks to the Security Service of Ukraine for keeping me on my toes. Thank you to all our soldiers and volunteers for taking care of Ukraine,” he added.

According to national exit polls, actor-turned-politician Zelenskiy received 72.7 percent of the vote, with incumbent Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko coming second with 27.3 percent.
