UK police arrested three protesters from the environmentalist group ‘Extinction Rebellion’ after they glued themselves to a Docklands Light Railway (DLR) train at London’s Canary Wharf station, on Wednesday.

Police deployed a specialist unit with climbing equipment and superglue removal compound to free the activists ahead of their arrest. A man was removed from the windows, and two other activists were detached from the roof of the train.

This was the third day of disruption, as the protest coincides with a week of action by the group across the capital to demand governmental action to combat climate change. Since Monday, four landmarks in the English capital were targets of blockade, reportedly affecting 500,000 people by the diversion of 55 bus routes.

According to reports, more than 300 people were arrested since the protests started.
