Turkish police dispersed a group of Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) supporters in Diyarbakir on Wednesday, during an unauthorised sit-in in protest against the appointment of the trustees. HDP Diyarbakır MP Remziye Tosun was wounded after being sprayed by a pressurised water cannon.

The HDP Diyarbakır Provincial Presidency organised a sit-in at the Kosuyolu Park in the Baglar district of Diyarbakir, to protest the appointment of trustees. During the sit-in action as the group planned to make a press release, the police said the action was unauthorised and warned them to disperse.

In spite of the warning, the police intervened after the group refused to disperse. During the intervention, HDP Diyarbakır MP Remziye Tosun fell down and was wounded.
