Spain: Real's Zidane hails 'impressive' Benzema after hat-trick vs Bilbao

Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane praised his team and his striker Karim Benzema after the latter scored a hat-trick in a 3-0 victory against Athletic Bilbao in Madrid on Sunday. “I think that all the players know what type of player is Karim [Benzema], what he can bring to the team. It’s true that what he is doing in terms of goals is impressive and I’m happy for him, only this,” said Zidane. Benzema has scored Real’s last eight goals, beating a 20-year-old record set by Fernando Morientes in 1999. Real had a lackluster first half before Benzema scored his first goal of the evening two minutes inside the second half. Despite the victory, Real remain third in La Liga standings, 13 points behind leaders Barcelona.
