LIVE: OAS council receives Ecuadorian President Moreno in the wake of Assange’s arrest

The Permanent Council of the Organisation of American States’ (OAS) receives Ecuadorian President Lenin Moreno during a protocol meeting in Washington D.C on Wednesday, April 17.

The meeting is taking place after Moreno revoked Wikileaks founder Julian Assange’s asylum and invited the police to remove him from the Ecuadorian embassy in London on Thursday, later citing his “discourteous and aggressive behaviour” and the “hostile and threatening declarations” of Wikileaks against Ecuador as grounds for his removal.
