Iranian child sporting prodigy Arat Hosseini, 5, who shot to Internet fame for his impressive gymnastic skills, has now set his sights on conquering the world of football. He was seen eating breakfast with his family in Babol, Wednesday, before hitting the training field for a series of coaching sessions and football matches.

Born on October 10, 2013, in Babol, the child genius was trained in gymnastics and acrobats by his father Mohammad when he was less than one year old. Arat wowed the Internet with footage of him performing complicated somersaults and backflips, as well as climbing the walls of his home, at the age of just three.

Despite the five-year-old’s exploits as a young gymnast, Arat has now decided to change paths and begin focusing on football, in which he also excels.

“Arat started gymnastics when he was three months old and continued on this path until seven months ago and he has done some other sports since then, and he said that out of all of them he wanted to play football, so his path has completely changed and we started playing football,” explained his father Mohammad.

Arat hopes one day to eclipse the achievements of his footballing heroes Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. “My favourite team is Barcelona and I would like to play there one day,” Arat said.

“I would like to be better than Ronaldo and Messi in the future,” he stated.
