Greece: PAOK send fans into raptures with first league triumph in 34 years

Exuberant fans of Greek football club PAOK celebrated their team winning Greece’s Super League championship for the first time in 34 years, following their match against Levadiakos at Thessaloniki’s Toumba Stadium on Sunday.

Fans of the team help flares and flags and chanted in a frenzy, after PAOK won 5-0 against Levadiakos to win a third Super League title.

Russian-Greek team owner Ivan Savvidis, celebrated alongside his players following the match outside the stadium, since he has been banned from entering Greek stadiums after bringing a gun to a game last March.

Frantic celebrations at the city’s port beneath the White Tower, carried on until the early hours of Monday morning.
