France: Eiffel Tower goes dark honouring Sri Lanka attacks victims

The Eiffel Tower switched off its lights at midnight in Paris, honouring more than 200 people killed in attacks on Easter Sunday in Sri Lanka. People, as well as those of Sri Lankan origin attended a night vigil in the Trocadero area of the city, lighting candles for the victims, with Buddhi Athauda, an ambassador of Sri Lanka in France also present at the event. In total, at least 207 people were killed and a further 450 were injured after eight explosions rocked hotels and churches in and around the Sri Lankan capital city of Colombo.
